The Ryerson IMPACT Lab, Investigating Methods to Prevent, Assess, and Care for Trauma, is lead by Lab Director, Candice Monson, PhD. The researchers at the IMPACT Lab produces high-quality research that focuses on PTSD interventions.

PTSD Interventions

The lab team studies PTSD Inverventions, focusing on the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therap (CPT), and Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) in the treatment of PTSD.


Implementation research is conducted to evaluate strategies for supporting mental health clinicians in delivering Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) for PTSD.

Couple HOPES

Couples HOPES is an online guided self-help intervention for couples including a partner with PTSD symptoms to improve PTSD and enhance relationship functioning. The study evaluates online interventions for PTSD.

Peer-Reviewed Publications

Candice Monson has published over 100 peer-reviewed publications and chapters on PTSD, PTSD interventions, dissemination, and conjoint therapy.
